Obituary of Carolyn Louise Jacobs Honeycutt

Carolyn Louise Jacobs-Honeycutt, 63, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Irvin and Frances (Edl) Vahl, Carolyn was the youngest of six children. She attended Holy Angels grade school and graduated from Messmer High School. Shortly after high school, Carolyn moved to Colorado to attend a technical school. She held various supervisory and management positions in the hospitality industry. Her vocation took her across the country: California, Texas, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Arizona, Virginia, and Florida, where she retired.

Carolyn is preceded in death by the late Frances (Edl) and Irvin Vahl, Paula (Vahl) and Ron Saskowski, Daniel “Otto” Vahl, and Gregory Vahl. She is survived by David Vahl, Catherine (Steve) Carini, and sister-in-laws Jean and Linda Vahl. She is further survived by her husband of 25 years William Honeycutt, daughters Emilia (Lenny) Augello, Ryann (William) McIntosh, Amanda (Kenneth) Jacobs, Jessica (Randall) Hoover, Ashley (John) Jacobs, and Samantha (Alex) Jacobs, and grandchildren Xiomara, Xander, Grayson, Reagan, Ryder, Reese, Dillan, Alina, Alexa, Ace, Jacob, Violet, Ezra, and Zane. Her family also includes numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Carolyn loved traveling and having adventures with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her 14 grandchildren every moment she could. Camping, fishing, and going to both the beach and the mountains were favorite past times. There was no achievement or occasion too large or small that wasn’t celebrated with a menu of home cooked meals from her family’s recipe cards and desserts specially made for the person of honor. She collected bells from the various places she lived.

Carolyn’s memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 1-4 pm at Sun City Center Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to https://liverfoundation.org/for-patients/how-you-can-help/.
